At the beginning of the month, we attended Pitchfork Paris for the 4th year in a row! Organized by the famous American media, in partnership with French agency Super!, the festival gathers the best indie artists every year.
For the 2019 edition, the festival innovated with 4 stages instead of 2. This new setup allowed to welcome more artists, and offer different setups.
Among our highlights, we can remember Primal Scream, mainly known for their legendary album “Screamadelica”. After arriving on stage, they started with one of their most famous songs “Movin On Up“, putting the crowd in the right mood for the rest of the show. We also really enjoyed their live version of “Loaded“,
One of the bands we were looking forward to the most was Chromatics, fresh from the release of their album “Closer To Grey“. With a great scenorgraphy, the band took us in their universe, with some new songs, but also classic ones like “Kill For Love“, “I Want Your Love” or “Tick Of The Clock“.
Like in every festival, there was also space for discovery with some artists we didn’t know before. Nilüfer Yanya was one of them, with a great energy on stage. We invite you to discover some of her songs like “Keep On Calling” or “The Florist“.
Belle & Sebastian was one of the last acts on Friday, and probably the best. The band was happy to be here and communicated very well with the public. At the end, they even invited the crowd to go on stage! That night ended with John Talabot who made the crowd dance with his powerful set.
On Saturday, we started with Charli XCX live. One of the highlights was when she invited Christine & The Queens on stage! We then enjoyed the intimate universe of Aurora, the eclectic live of The 1975 and the electro pop sound of Agar Agar.
After that, the night ended with more electronic music. French artist Sebastian, from Ed Banger, was introducing his new live show. With visuals in the background, he played songs from his new album, but also some remixes released a couple of years ago. We then danced on the set from 2manydjs, a great way to end this festival!
Once more, we had a great time at Pitchfork Festival. With its new format, the festival keeps its spirit and the great lineup that makes it so special. See you next year!
