I’m often talking about Australian artists, but let’s not forget that their New Zealander neighbours also have some great talents. The latest example is the music collective LEISURE, composed of 5 musicians, who produce music in a very spontaneous way. Everyone can play whichever instrument they like, add vocals whenever the mood takes them, each member bringing a different skill set (pop song writing sensibilities, experimental production techniques…).
It’s probably what makes their songs so good and unique, with influences from funk, rap, r’n’b, electronic music… It personally reminded me of bands like Jungle and Her. Their debut album just came out, accompanied by the single “Know You Better” that you can discover below.
I’ve already listened to the album several times, and I’m sure you’ll end up doing the same… It will be in my top 10 albums of 2016 for sure!
